Important update
Good news: The looming strike action has been cancelled after an agreement was reached.
Passengers scheduled to travel through Tenerife South Airport (TFS) during the upcoming Easter period should be aware of planned industrial action involving ground handling personnel. While strikes can naturally cause concern for holidaymakers, understanding the schedule and the measures in place will help ensure your transit through the airport remains as seamless as possible.
The dispute involves staff from Menzies, an important handling agent at Tenerife South Airport. Handling staff are responsible for vital “behind-the-scenes” operations, including baggage transit, aircraft refuelling, and passenger check-in services.
The strikes are strategically timed to coincide with Semana Santa (Holy Week), one of the busiest periods for the Canary Islands. While the first two days of action on 28th and 29th March have been suspended, the industrial action is now set to commence on 2nd April. Under the updated schedule, full 24-hour stoppages will take place from 2nd to 6th April, covering the Easter Bank Holiday weekend. Should the labour dispute remain unresolved, the duration of the strike will extend to every Saturday and Sunday until 31 December 2026.

To mitigate the impact of these disruptions on your travel experience, we recommend the following:
